On 14th November, the President of Carrefour Poland and Executive Director of Northern & Eastern Europe, Guillaume de Colonges, received the title of Knight in the National Order of Merit. The exceptional French title was given to the President of Carrefour by the Ambassador of France in Poland, Pierre Levy, for his notable achievements for the promotion of French economy and culture in Poland.

The ceremony took place at the residence of the Ambassador of France and gathered representatives of French and Polish companies as well as of partner institutions of Carrefour. This special event was a distinction and a proof of recognition for the President of Carrefour Poland, as well as an acknowledgment of his commitment in the building of economic, social and cultural relations between France and Poland.

The National Order of Merit is a prestigious French national order founded in 1963 by the General Charles de Gaulle. It is awarded both to French citizens and citizens of other countries, for notable civil and military achievements for the French Nation. The President of Carrefour Poland, Guillaume de Colonges thus joined a distinguished group of recipients of this insignia.

Carrefour is involved in many projects strengthening Polish-French relations and bringing French economy, culture, cuisine and lifestyle closer. In 2017, Carrefour is a strategic partner of the French Institute in Poland and of the Polish-French Trade Chamber. Carrefour was also the main partner of the action “French Touch”.
