CARREFOUR PRESENTS THE OFFER OF OWN BRAND BIO PRODUCTS AT BIOEXPO

In October this year for the first time the BIOEXPO Fair and the BIOEXPO 2019 Congress were held in Warsaw. This is a new event in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the ecological industry. During this fair Carrefour became an exhibitor and presented a wide range of organic products of the own brand Carrefour BIO and took part in the debate during the congress. The event was a success and brought together 220 exhibitors from various countries and 9,000 visitors.

The BIO Expo Warsaw International Food and Organic Products Fair is an event that brought together at one place and time leading manufacturers and distributors, buyers, owners of specialist stores as well as food and convenience wholesalers. The fair enabled establishing and developing business contacts. Carrefour Polska presented an offer of Carrefour BIO products during the event, and numerous sales representatives gathered at the stand talked with Polish and foreign suppliers of ecological products interested in cooperation. The event was also an ideal opportunity to inform guests about the numerous educational activities carried out by the brand, as well as grants handed over to farmers by the Carrefour Foundation. Lidl was also present at the event, who widely communicated his presence at the fair before the event, encouraging suppliers to cooperate. Lidl Polska also became the Main Partner of the event.

The fair was accompanied by the BIOEXPO Congress. The event comprehensively addressed the issues of agriculture and organic food, organic and natural cosmetics and cleaning products, as well as the topic of health and the threats that consumer civilization brings to our planet. As part of the congress, industry trainings, culinary shows and workshops took place. The aim of the congress was to disseminate knowledge about the qualities of organic products among many groups of recipients, including conventional farmers, food producers and processors, government and non-governmental institutions, opinion leaders and consumers. Krzysztof Dobczyński, Director of the Fresh Products Sales Department at Carrefour took part in the expert debate "The future of the BIO market" together with representatives of the Lidl network, Organic Farma Zdrowia and Bio Planet. During the panel, important issues were raised, such as consumer education and support for farmers and organic producers, which may contribute to the development of the bio food market in Poland.

The Carrefour stand enjoyed great interest from current and potential suppliers who could meet Carrefour buyers. Special attractions have been prepared for all visitors. During the three days of the fair, guests could taste and buy Carrefour BIO products as well as certified vegetables from farmers who received support in the form of grants from the Carrefour Foundation.
