CARREFOUR AWARDED FOR CHARITY ACTIONS

During the conference 'Social challenges of business after 30 years of free market economy in Poland', which took place on October 10th 2019 at the Ministry of Investment and Development, a list of business social projects of the greatest value for society in the last 30 years was announced. The plebiscite coordinator is the Responsible Business Forum, an expert non-governmental organization that is the initiator and partner of key projects for Polish CSR. Carrefour Poland has been awarded for supporting the activities of the Capuchin Foundation for homeless and people in need.

Among the appreciated initiatives in the 30x30 Ranking - Social Business Projects of the last 30 years there were 60 business projects - 30 best national actions and 30 local initiatives. Carrefour Poland has been appreciated for its local activities. The chain supported the Capuchin Foundation in the implementation of the project "Chance for the homeless - overcoming marginalization". The award on behalf of the company was received by Justyna Orzeł, Secretary General of Carrefour Poland.

In 2018 the Carrefour Foundation donated a grant of 67 018 eur for the implementation of the Capuchin Foundation project, which aimed to support the construction and retrofitting a new beanery for homeless. Thanks to the support of the Carrefour Foundation, the building is equipped with a goods lift, central electric hob, kitchen ventilation system. Carrefour Poland also supports ongoing projects of the Capuchin Foundation by donating products for the special events and campaigns of organization.

The organizer of the ranking is the THINKTANK center. The ranking coordinator is the Responsible Business Forum, which also prepared, based on its annual reports „Responsible Business in Poland. Good practices ”, 166 of the 180 nominated initiatives. Other projects were submitted by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland. Both organizations have been promoting the social commitment of business for years and directing its efforts to solve the most important social problems.
