Carrefour Poland is the only retail chain to join the partnership for the implementation on the Polish market of the “OECD’s guiding principles (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) on due diligence for responsible supply chains in the textiles, clothing and footwear sector”. The document, in its Polish version, was presented on 29th June at the Ministry of Investment and Development during a conference untitled “Responsible business-Responsible development” and aims to help Polish producers set up a responsible supply chain.

The event gathered representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Development, the OECD, the Forum of Responsible Companies-FOB, the Global Compact Network Poland, as well as of the business and academic communities and sectorial organizations. Our company was represented by Robert Noceń, Secretary General of Carrefour Poland. The conference was an occasion to present the international OECD’s standards on due diligence for responsible supply chains and their implementation in practice.

Carrefour Poland’s commitment for implementing the OECD’s guiding principles is part of a larger cooperation with the Ministry of Investment and Development for a broad promotion of CSR activities. In addition, the co-edition of the Polish version of the document proves that Carrefour for many years conducts a sustainable policy towards textile products.

The OECD’s guiding principles on due diligence for responsible supply chains in the textiles, clothing and footwear industry are for companies a precious help in preventing and fighting potential negative effects of an activity, taking into account the whole supply chain. The implementation of this project was made possible thanks to the commitment of Polish producers from the textiles, clothing and footwear sector (Carrefour, CCC, Vistula Group, Polontex), sectorial organizations, the Forum of Responsible Companies and the Ministry of Investment and Development.
