Carrefour Poland on Warsaw Food Expo 2018

Carrefour Poland participated as an exhibitor at the International Food Fair Warsaw Food Expo, which took place from 24th to 26th May at the Congress and Exhibition Centre Ptak Expo in Nadarzyn. Carrefour Poland’s participation was an occasion to present to producers, suppliers, consumers and to the agriculture community its Food Transition strategy.

The official opening ceremony of the Fair was held on 24th May and was conducted by Krzysztof Jurgiel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Minister visited as well Carrefour Poland’s stand dedicated to its Food Transition strategy, which relies on the development of ecological agriculture in Poland, a priority for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

On the stand, and in the business area - which was available from the beginning of the fair- producers of fresh products, certified ecological food and diverse packaged products, could discuss with the representatives of Carrefour’s commercial unit on the possibilities of cooperation with the retail chain.

Carrefour Poland also took part in a debate dedicated to “Responsible food management in commercial chains” organized on 25th May by the Polish Organization of Commerce and Distribution (POHiD). Barbara Kowalska. Director of the Quality department at Carrefour Poland presented the actions of the company in the field of food waste prevention. Representatives of POHiD and of the Federation of Polish Food Banks also participated in the debate. On the same day, workshops for children and youth were organized as part of the „The ABC of Healthy Nutrition” program conducted by Carrefour, in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW.

The International Food Fair Warsaw Food Expo 2018 was an occasion to discover in one place the wide offer of food producers and distributors, as well as of companies from the food transformation and production sectors. From 24th to 26th May, participants could also take part in many debates, workshops, cooking demonstrations, sectoral trainings and business meetings.
