The agreement covers the launch of 170 charging points at over 70 commercial facilities owned by Carrefour, located in 65 Polish cities. This partnership aims to facilitate Poles' access to the network of electric vehicle charging stations, as well as to promote ecological methods of transport. The project will also contribute to accelerating the achievement of greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in line with the 1.5°C trajectory set by the Carrefour Group global sustainability strategy.

The agreement that was signed establishes a joint initiative between Carrefour Polska and Eleport, aimed at developing a network of electric vehicle charging stations throughout Poland. Thanks to this cooperation, Carrefour will offer comfort to its customers by enabling them to charge electric cars easier, more accessible and environmentally friendly with energy from 100% renewable sources. This is in line with the pillars of the "Carrefour 2026" strategic plan announced by the Carrefour Group in November 2022 and which assumes, as part of the sustainable development strategy, among others: a significant reduction in greenhouse gases by 30% by 2025, 50% by 2030 and 70% by 2040 compared to 2019, which were determined by a temperature increase trajectory of 1.5°C. The network mobilizes its suppliers and customers to actively participate in activities in this area.

The first of the 170 charging points covered by the agreement, which will be located at over 70 Carrefour facilities in 65 Polish cities, will be launched later this year. Currently, work is underway related to the administrative process and preparation of each location for installation of devices. The goal of both partners is to launch devices in all locations as soon as possible.

The agreement between Carrefour and Eleport is a step towards promoting sustainable development and supporting ecological initiatives in the retail sector. The planned infrastructure expansion will cover strategically located locations throughout Poland, which will not only increase the convenience of using electric cars, but also encourage more people to consider eco-friendly transport options.
