Carrefour Poland, as a retail chain, joined the partnership of the Accessibility Plus program, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Investment and Development. The official signature of the document took place at the Ministry on 12th September, with the participation of the Vice-minister for Investment and Development, Adam Hamryszczak.

During the meeting, 23 organizations committed themselves to launch actions in accordance with the assumptions of the Accessibility Plus program. The document was signed in the name of Carrefour by Maria Cieślikowska, External communication and PR Director.

The adhesion of Carrefour Poland is part of a largest cooperation of the company with the Ministry of Investment and Development for the promotion of CSR activities. It is also a proof of Carrefour Poland’s commitment, which is developing for many years actions for people with special needs, especially people with disabilities and seniors. The chain offers solutions for improving the comfort and the shopping experience in its stores, with among others, a sign language translation service and the possibility to do shopping with a guide dog. Carrefour Poland also proposes its clients additional services in the mobile application “Mój Carrefour” (Senior Card, Large Family Card).

The Accessibility Plus Program was launched in April by the Polish Prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Its aim is to ensure free access to goods and services and to give people with special needs the possibility to take part in the social and public life. The initiatives developed as part of the Accessibility Plus program focus on the adaptation of the public space, architecture, transports, as well as on services and products answering the requirements of all citizens. Other companies joined to this day the partnership, such as PKN Orlen, PKP S.A., Orange Polska, Poczta Polska and T-Mobile Polska S.A.
